»Using software plugins has always made a lot of sense to me from a practical standpoint. Unfortunately, they’ve always left me a bit empty with regards to sound when comparing them to a lot of the great analog outboard equipment that I’ve been using forever here at Lacquer Channel Mastering. I’ve literally tried and owned them all. A great majority of them simply get uninstalled after a period of being ignored. The only software plugins that have not only remained but have been on every single session since I bought them in the Fall of 2008 have been the Cube-Tec VPi’s. Amazing! I’ve lost count on the number of times the EQ’s and compressors were simply better suited to a track than my usual hardware. Easy to use, perfect recall and no monthly maintenance fees. VPI’s are the future but I’m enjoying them right now . Of course, having Curt, Stephen and Stefan looking over my shoulder to get them integrated into my Sequoia system has been fantastic. My next foray will be with the restoration tools!«
